Our business was founded on bringing clothes to the home sewists that struggle with not finding the right clothes on the high street, to this day this remains our mission. Whilst we may have grown slightly from Grannys table, we still value the same ethos and work towards the same goals. Industry quality sewing patterns with easy to follow instructions. Patterns that fit well and serve you forever.
Our customers are at the heart of what we do and we will always take the time to listen to your feedback and implement changes that we can. Our patterns have a 6 or more month development timeline (most of them have more) that enables to thoroughly test, test and retest the pattern before she is released into the wild for you to enjoy and love.

By nature we are a sustainably conscious family therefore our business has grown this way too. Wherever possible we use GOTS and Oeko Tex certified materials so that we can minimise our impact on the planet.
We make informed decisions regarding which fabric, thread and elastics to use based on the intended garment with a view to make a garment that will have serious longevity, that to us is the ultimate sustainability goal. We are pleased with the small range of haberdashery items we now stock, including organic cotton threads and biodegradable elastics and we are keen to invest more heavily in sustainable alternatives as they are innovated and look forward to the sustainability initiatives that our suppliers are undertaking.

Due to the nature of our small business we do not use many external subcontractors or freelance personnel. However, as our business grows we are committed to ensuring that we create an inclusive culture surrounding our business. We are committed to ensuring our company never makes individuals feel unincluded for any reason.
We are currently working on the expanded size range to ensure that we can meet the needs of our customers who are currently outside of our existing size band. This has been a process that has unfortunately been extended due to the Coronavirus lockdowns. The meetings we planned to make with grading companies have been delayed. We have decided to enlist the assistance of an external company with expertise in this field to ensure that we are providing the Maven fit that we are renowned for. This is unfortunately taking longer than we initially anticipated, however our Sizing Inclusivity Mission is set for completion by 2023.

As a micro business we don’t yet have any employees but this is something we will be looking to do very soon. We are keen to expand our team and bring in some fresh ideas and expertise. To ensure that we are being responsible and ethical employers we are committed to striving to be the best employers we can be.
The importance of ensuring that we offer our employees somewhere to flourish and grow stems from a back catalogue of toxic work environments that we wish never to be the cause of for someone else. Here is a list below of what we will do to ensure we are creating a creative environment for our team to grow with us:
- Health & safety as well as risk assessments to ensure your safety at all times.
- On demand training, so our employees can request to be trained in any relevant business activity that they would like to know, and we’ll sort it.
- Yearly personal development plans with quarterly reviews to make sure our employees are settled and happy.
- Snow Days & Good weather days… sometimes it’s just too good to be working.
- An external HR team to ensure that our employees feel protected and valued.
