Size Chart

Give yourself a quick measure when choosing your size. Please don’t rely on your RTW dress size when choosing your size. Sizing varies so much from shop to shop, let alone country to country – it’s just not a reliable method!

Garment measurements are included in the instructions of each sewing pattern.

Find Maven Patterns sewing pattern size charts, with body measurements in sizes 8-22 and small to extra large to help you choose the right size for your project.
  • Our patterns are drafted for a height of 168cm / 5′ 6″.
  • We draft for a B cup, that’s a 5cm (2″) difference between your high bust and full bust (not to be confused with your RTW bra cup size).
  • Please note: not all patterns are available in all sizes and each pattern will have its size range in the description.

MAVEN 1832 EXTENDED SIZE RANGE

The French Dart, The Rochester & The Somerset sewing patterns are now available in our extended size range. Drafted in UK sizes 18-32 and a dressmakers D cup that’s a 10cm (4″) difference between your high bust and full bust.

MAKE A TOILE

Whichever pattern range you choose, I always recommend making a toile. A toile is just a quick mock-up of your pattern in calico or random unloved odd bit of cloth to check you are happy with the fit , the style and familiarise yourself with the instructions before you commit to your lovely fabric of choice. There is no need to neaten the seams, add fastenings or details such as collars or pockets although they can be useful.
