Due to the cross-over open back design sizing is intended as a guide and we always recommend making a toile to test the fit and sizing for your preferences. To select your size, look to the body measurement chart and compare your body measurements. Cross reference against the finished garment measurement chart.

Fabric & Haberdashery Requirements

The Maria Apron Fabric Requiremeny chart 2026-2
  • Fabric requirements have been calculated as a one way (one directional/with nap) lay. 
  • If suitable for your fabric, you may save fabric if you decide to rotate some of your pattern pieces and interlock them. 
  • Additional fabric may be required for check, stripe or pattern matching.
  • *APRIL 2026: updated to include fabric requirements for individual sizes.

SUITABLE FABRICS

Light to medium weight woven fabrics such as chambray, denims, linens, cottons or repurpose a vintage embroidered tablecloth for a unique apron.

HABERDASHERY

  • Matching thread
  • Iron on fusible interfacing 90cm x 50cm (36” x 20”)
  • Version B only: 1m x 2cm (1yd x ¾”) wide twill tape or ribbon for the tie.
