The finished tie
The Warwick Tie has a traditional shape with a 156cm (61″) finished length and a 7cm (2¾”) wide tip.
The fabric gives the finished tie a distinctive pattern, while the contrasting tipping adds a little interest on the inside. You can also choose to use the main fabric for the tipping if you prefer.
A satisfying sewing project
Making a tie is a surprisingly enjoyable project. There is something particularly satisfying about creating a finished accessory from a few carefully cut pieces of fabric, and the Warwick Tie is a lovely opportunity to practise traditional tie-making and hand-sewing techniques.
It also makes a thoughtful handmade gift, particularly for Father’s Day, Christmas or a wedding. You could make matching ties for a groom and groomsmen, or choose a favourite fabric to create something completely individual.
